IZAIAH HUNTER

Delaware County Employee of the Month
October 2011

Izaiah Hunter began working for the Delaware County Department of Public Works on July 30, 2007 as a Motor Equipment Operator.  On August 27, 2007, he was promoted to Heavy Equipment Operator.

Izaiah’s job includes building, repairing and maintaining bridges.  He capably operates all types of heavy equipment.

According to his department head, Izaiah is a tremendous asset to the Department of Public Works.  He has a very easy going personality and is an excellent equipment operator.  Izaiah is often assigned to the more difficult projects because of his talent and patience.  He never turns down a task no matter how difficult the challenge.  It is for these reasons that Izaiah is nominated for Employee of the month.

According to Izaiah, what he likes most about working for the Department of Public Works is that it allows him to see and appreciate all parts of Delaware County.  He says, “I have had the opportunity to operate heavy equipment in swift moving rivers in the effort to save bridges and roads.  I enjoy the people I work with and the great bosses I have.  I am proud to be a part of making a positive difference in our County.”

Izaiah is married to Dana, who is a Senior Caseworker for the Delaware County Department of Social Services.  Dana is very proud that he is nominated for employee of the month.  Izaiah credits his parents, John and Joan Hunter, for giving him a great work ethic.

Izaiah’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, motorcycling, horseback riding and cooking.

Congratulations, Izaiah, for this well-deserved recognition.
