Denise began working for Delaware County in the Department of Social Services Administrative Unit in 1983 as a Senior Typist. She was promoted to Administrative Assistant in March, 1994 and has spent her entire twenty-five year career with the Department of Social Services’ Administrative Unit.

As Administrative Assistant for the Department of Social Services, Denise coordinates all payroll and personnel functions with the County Personnel Office. She is responsible for all Department employee records, completion of the bi-weekly payroll and ensures that all Department-based Civil Service requirements are met. As head of the Administrative Unit for the Department, the Assistant is also responsible for receiving and disseminating all Department mail and correspondence and the tracking of any checks or other securities received in the mail. Denise also coordinates the Medicaid transportation system for all County Medicaid recipients. She also provides support activities including public information for inquiries made to the Department.

Denise enjoys her coworkers and the fast pace of work at the Department. She likes the mix of work and the balance between contacts with the public and with the various agencies that work with Social Services. Denise assists the Department in its fulfillment of its larger mission.

Denise is the mother of a daughter in the 5th grade and a son in the 4th grade. Their schedules keep her busy and focused when she is not solving the challenges at Social Services. Denise also enjoys filling fill her free time with family outings, mall trips and puttering around the house.

Denise is a dedicated and valued staff member. She provides a constant level of support to her coworkers who depend upon her for accurate information to keep their personnel records and Civil Service functions correct, as well as their payroll. She also takes on difficult situations involving emotional crises that may arise in the workplace and helps increase the chance that the crisis will be reduced and improved.

Denise is a focal point for information to the public which is expected and necessary, and which must be dispensed in a timely manner. Denise takes her position and responsibility very seriously and has produced a 25 year record of quality work.
